Common questions
What is Nuddo Bop?
A really loud metronome — the sister app to Nuddo Glow. It has 16 sounds, three ways to see the beat (digits, a pendulum, a cartoon), training plans that speed up step by step, and a speed test for drummers. US$0.99, paid once, with no subscription or in-app purchases.
Do I need an account?
No. Use it as a guest and your practice stays on this phone. Sign in or sign up for a Nuddo account (the same one as Glow and Ghost) and your practice checks in to an “Instrument practice” goal in Nuddo Glow and shows up on all your phones; guest sessions can be added too.
It’s still not loud enough
Bop uses the media volume, not the ringer — turn it up with the side buttons. In Settings → Sound, set Loudness to “Max” and try sounds that cut through, like Electronic, Cowbell or Click (hard); you can also turn on Flash and Vibrate. A Bluetooth speaker or headphones help a lot.
Does it keep playing when the screen is locked?
Yes, and with the silent switch on. The lock screen and Control Centre can pause and resume, and the previous / next buttons take the tempo down / up by 5 (in a training plan, next skips a step). If “Play along with other apps” is on, iOS doesn’t show the lock-screen controls.
How do training plans work?
Tap Plans on the main screen, make a plan and add practice steps and rests in order. Each practice step has a time signature, subdivision, tempo and length; turn on “Change tempo gradually” to set how much, how often and the limit. While it runs, you’re told about tempo changes, new steps and the last 3 seconds of a rest. Rests don’t count as practice time.
How accurate is the speed test?
With the microphone, put the phone near the drum or pad: if it misses strokes, turn sensitivity up; if it counts extra, turn it down. In a noisy room, use the two on-screen pads instead. The speed test counts on your phone only — nothing is recorded or uploaded.
How does practice get into Glow?
The first time you sign in, if you don’t have a practice goal in Glow yet, Bop makes an “Instrument practice” goal (30 minutes a day, 10,000 hours). Every session you save in Bop is a check-in on that goal, and the minutes add to your 10,000 hours. If you delete that goal in Glow, Bop won’t make it again by itself — tap the button in Bop’s Practice screen to make a new one.
Can I see my buddies’ cheers?
Yes. When buddies who follow your practice goal cheer you on or like your practice in Glow, Bop lets you know, and you’ll find them under Practice. Bop just shows them; reply and like in Glow.
I forgot my 4-digit code
The code is kept only on this phone and we can’t recover it. Delete and reinstall Bop to reset it; practice from your account comes back, but guest sessions are lost.
Can I change the icon or language?
Yes — Settings → App icon has four icons, and Settings → Language has Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Spanish, Italian, German and French (it follows your phone by default).
How do I delete my account?
At the bottom of Settings in Bop, Glow or Ghost, tap Delete account, then slide all the way and hold. The three apps share one account, so everything is permanently deleted. If you only use guest mode, deleting Bop deletes the practice log on that phone.
How do I get a refund?
Bop is bought through the App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
