Common questions
What is Nuddo Ghost?
An app for chatting with your buddies and circles — the sister app to Nuddo Glow. Messages fade like memories, any of them can burn after reading, and moments you both mark 👻 stay in your shared sky.
Do I need Nuddo Glow first?
No. Ghost and Glow share one Nuddo account, so you can sign up or sign in right in Ghost with your email or Apple Account. If you already use Glow, your buddies, circles, block list and profile are there in Ghost.
Why do I need to be 16?
Ghost is a social app for talking with buddies and circles. Following Australia’s social media minimum age, we offer accounts only to people 16 and over, everywhere. You just give your birth year and month when you sign up — no ID needed. If your age was assessed wrongly, email us.
How do I add buddies and join circles?
On Ghost’s home screen, enter someone’s Nuddo ID under Buddies or an invite code under Circles, or accept buddy and circle invites you’ve received. It all syncs with Nuddo Glow. You can also tap someone’s name in a circle to add them as a buddy.
How long do messages last?
From when they’re sent: 3 hours on Free, 12 on Ghost Premium, 36 on Ghost Plus — a chat gets the longer of the two people’s plans. Premium and Plus can also make their own messages fade sooner. Circle chats follow the host’s plan, and private chats between circle members who aren’t buddies yet last 30 minutes.
Can I get a faded message back?
No. Faded and burned messages are deleted from your phone, and our server deleted them once delivered — there’s no copy. To keep one, mark it 👻 together.
What are 👻 moments and the sky?
Swipe right or press and hold a message to mark it 👻; if they mark it too within 24 hours, it stays in your shared sky. How many you can keep each day depends on your plans (Free 1, Premium 3, Plus 5 — the average if your plans differ). Either of you can let a star go; Burn Together, once you both agree, deletes your chat and sky.
Can anyone read my messages — including you?
No. Messages are encrypted on your phone and only the other person’s phone can open them. Our server passes on ciphertext and deletes it once delivered. Notifications only say who it’s from and which chat.
Will I know if someone takes a screenshot?
Yes — the other person is told when a screenshot is taken in a chat, and chats are hidden while the screen is recorded or mirrored. We can’t stop someone photographing their screen with another device, so only send what you’re happy for them to see.
What happens to messages I send offline?
They wait in your outbox marked “Sending” and go out by themselves once you’re back online; anything that can’t be sent shows “Not sent · tap to retry”.
I have a new phone
Sign in with the same account. Your buddies and circles come back; chats on your old phone don’t move over (they’d fade anyway). With iCloud Keychain on, your skies come back too. Restore your Ghost plan in Settings → Restore purchases.
Are Ghost plans the same as Glow’s?
No, they’re bought separately. Ghost Premium (US$1.49 a month or US$13.99 a year) and Ghost Plus (US$2.99 a month or US$24.99 a year) set how long messages last in Ghost and your daily photos, voice, videos, burn-after-reading and 👻 moments. To cancel: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Nuddo Ghost.
How do I block or report someone?
In your chat with them, tap the top of the chat to open its settings, where you can report or block them; in a circle, tap their name to block them. Your block list is shared with Nuddo Glow. When you report, you can attach the messages concerned; your phone decrypts them and sends them to us, and we review reports within 24 hours.
Why can’t I find Ghost on the mainland China App Store?
Nuddo Ghost isn’t offered on the mainland China App Store for now.
How do I delete my account?
At the bottom of Settings in Ghost or Glow, tap Delete account, then slide all the way and hold. The two apps share one account, so everything in both — including chats, keys and skies — is permanently deleted.
